Thankfully, we found a super facility, more than willing to do everything AG wouldn't do, and at the last minute, because AG put us in that spot--Grrrr. I've never left a negative review, but others should be advised.
Aspen Grove us fantastic! The staff truly care for the doggie guests. I am very comfortable leaving my dog there; I never worry because I know she's well cared for and safe. The luxury baths leave her so soft and shiny. I'm amazed at the cleanliness of the place. I highly recommend Aspen Grove!
Aspen Grove sheds the basics of good service--that is: for every customer who may have a bone to pick, there are others with the same beef who just don't speak up. At the very least, they PRETEND to care. Here, no one has a problem, just YOU--you ARE the problem, as they drag their tails and leave you hanging.
Woof! Expect to be snapped at. No milk(bone) of human kindness here. Extremely slow, poor communication, geared for their convenience, not yours. The dragging e-mail malfunctions went on for days until our date of departure was upon us, STILL no confirmation. If possible, it was worse in person. I agree with previous reviewers that Aspen Grove either needs to revise the misleading invitation on their massive billboard or demonstrate that they actually CARE if you show up. ("Come in for tea and a tour"--no tea, no tour, just the coldest shoulder south of Roanoke). Desperately needed: a people person out front with PR skills.
I don't have anything BAD to say about the place. However, I am not going to rave about it either. We left our dog who is a special needs dog, here for 4 days while we went to PA for a weekend. Most people may not check on their pets but like I said, mine is special needs. I emailed to check on her. I didn't hear anything back until the day AFTER I picked her up. Not cool. When I had a dog with special needs, I am going to check on her. There is also a sign on 220 next to the place that tells you to come on in and take a tour. However once you ask for a tour, they refuse it. I was not allowed to see where my girl would be staying. When I got her back she was fine and we didn't have any problems. I just got a bad vibe from here when they wouldn't let me take a tour, which they clearly advertise. Like I said, I didn't have any issues during my stay and if I can't find anywhere else then I guess I would have to go back here but I will definitely look for somewhere else.
Our Kelly loves her visits to Aspen Grove. She gets plenty of play and run time with her favorite buddy, Grover. Kelly does not like other dogs. The staff accomplished a miracle by introducing them and they are now best friends and playmates.
This is the only place I will board my dogs. Have been using them since 1999. Highly recommend for boarding & daycare, esp. if you have an active dog.
